About me

Angelika Fink

Working with old handwriting and family history for over three decades.

Personal background

My passion for history

Angelika Fink at her desk

I was born in 1960, am married, and have four grown-up daughters. I've been fascinated by history since childhood.

This personal passion led me to want to be able to read and research old documents. After my first steps of private research in state archives, I took part in training in old handwriting. Since 1991 I've had ample opportunity to put my knowledge into practice – from that point on I looked after a municipal archive. I stepped down from that role in 2020.

Through my other hobby, family research, I've made many international contacts over the years. You'll find interesting examples of this on this website under Ancestry & family research. I've been able to help many people find out more about their ancestors. This work has always been exciting to me and I've enjoyed it a great deal.

Mundelsheim, wie es früher einmal war. Old photos and historical images

This most recent work shows over 300 historical photos and images, most of which come from the municipal archive. Together with the editorial team from the historical society, I helped bring the town's history vividly to life.

Kälbling, Käsberg, Kappelstaffel

This book was the result of lengthy work. Two society members and I analysed the old land registers and cadastral maps of the municipal archive to record all field names within the municipality of Mundelsheim and describe the meaning and origin of these names.
